E.L.F. High Definition Powder Review

I find that e.l.f. products are always hit or miss. Sometimes they are a good product for a great price and other times they fall in to the you get what you pay for. This High Definition Powder is a little off  mark for me.

L'Oreal paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow Review

L'Oreal's claims
  • Intense maximized color
  • Luxurious powder-cream texture
  • 24-hour long-lasting hold
  • Waterproof, crease resistant, fade resistant
description from loreal.com

These come in 12 shades. Most are shimmery neutrals there are a few more colorful colors like blue, green and purple.

I have heard that theses are a good drugstore dupe for the Armani Eyes To kill eyeshadows, but that is probably due to the fact that they are both under the same parent company and use similar formulas. So if you were looking to try the Armani shadows but not at the $32 price this might be a better way to go.  As for what I think of the L'Oral Infallible 24 HR shadows.....

Love it or leave it? Personally I'd leave it.  As far as the claims go it doesn't hold up. It does have a nice powder-cream texture, but as fare as intense maximized color goes it swatches on the fingers nicely yet when applied from there to the skin the pigmentation doesn't show up as intense. I did also find the shadow hard to work with. It was hard to pickup onto a brush and then apply to the eye. The best way to apply it was with the fingers, even then it wasn't ideal. As far as 24 hour long lasting hold goes it couldn't even hold up for 8 hours without creasing and that was with an eyeshadow primer.

Would I purchase other shades? No, I think that it's not worth the nearly $10 for one color that is hard to work with and does not hold up.

Too Faced In Your Dreams Pallet Review

Silk Stalkings, La Cage, Rapture, Wanna Play?, Give It up
Pink Peacock, Swing, Fishnet, Girly Show, Pink Ice
Full Moon, Dream On, Seduce, You Hold The Key, Heat On
I think it's perfect for the makeup novice  giving three complete looks. The packaging is supper cute. I also like that it is nice and flat which is good for easy storage. There are instructions on the inside cover of the pallet on how to put together three different looks.
The shadows are nicely pigmented with a velvety texture. All of the eyeshadows have either a metallic or a shimmer. I would of liked to see one or two matte shadows in the mix. I also found the colors in the first two rows to be fairly similar. All three bushes are very wearable for everyday. The lip colors are sheer and glossy with a smooth non-sticky texture. Over all I really like this pallet. I think it's a great pallet of makeup beginners and everyday looks.

NYX Haul & Beautyjoint.com review

I recently purchased some NYX cosmetics from Beautyjoint.com over black friday. Beauty joint sells NYX cosmetics at about 40%-50% off regular NYX prices. We all love saving money! They also sell Milani cosmetics, Jordana, and China Glaze at reduced prices.

Overall I was really happy with the site, prices and the products. The products arrived and each was wraped in bubble wrap to prevent breakage and everything was perfect and intact.  My only complaint was the swatch of the Eros lipstick. From the swatch on the site I thought Eros was going to be a nude pink color but when I received it it was really a bright coral red. It was a beautiful color but I was expecting it to be a nude. So just check with the NYX site first to make sure the color you see is the color you'll get. I think that they may have gotten them mixed up a bit.

Review: E.L.F Studio Mascara Primer

Lengthen and volumize eyelashes instantly with this Mascara Primer. Revitalize lashes with Pro-Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Wheat and Soy Protein-enriched formula. An excellent conditioning base for mascara. Coat each lash with this nourishing primer for lashes that appear naturally thicker, longer and stronger!

I really like this mascara primer. It helps pump up the volume and length of lashes with just one coat of primer and one coat of mascara. When normally it would take multiple coats of mascara to make lashes look thicker and longer with the primer it only needed one. The primer makes my lashes feel soft even with the mascara on. Normally mascara make my lashes feel crunchy. The brush on the wand is the perfect size coating all the lashes. I"m also digging the packaging. The handle of the wand is nice and long making it easy to handle. Like all E.L.F products it’s very inexpensive at only $3, well worth the price.

Review E.L.F. Studio Complete Coverage Concealer

Savvy beauty shoppers rejoice—now there is no need to buy new concealer from season to season for meeting the different needs your skin tone may have. e.l.f. introduces a sleek quad compact filled with four brilliant, customizable concealers ranging from light, medium and dark shades. A must have for anyone’s makeup kit these highly pigmented, professionally formulated concealers offer ultimate coverage to disguise a range of boo-boos and flaws including blemishes, dark circles, redness and uneven skin-tone for a flawless, makeup artist finish!
Description from E.L.F.com

I bought this concealer compact because I have trouble finding the right shade, and thought it would be great for mixing. But I was greatly disappointed in it. The concealers are extremely waxy and hard to get out of the pan with a brush and even when I used my finger to warm it up it barley came out. The colors were also poorly pigmented. When applied to the skin the concealer went straight into the cracks and fine lines on the skin, which is not a good look and makes you look older.  This concealer pallet is defiantly a regret buy and I don’t think I’ll get any use out of it.

Review: Maybelline Eyestodio Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow (10 Amethyst Ablaze)

• Sophisticated color, ignited by an exclusive luminizer, reveals amazing color highlights.
• Explosive pigments sweep on for the truest color payoff. Exclusive luminizer unleashes a surge of color.
• Ophthalmologist-tested. Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

Let me start by saying I’m a sucker for purple eyeshadow, and these did not disappoint. The shadows were nicely pigmented. They have a soft and smooth texture and blended well. All of the shadows have a shimmer to them, the lightest shade on the bottom is more of a frost. I found the glitter shade interesting; it has silver and rainbow holographic glitter which looks a little drastic in the pallet but when blended out is a really pretty glitter. I like how the shadows can go from a day to night look just by adding the glitter on top of the look. I enjoy the mix of purples with a grape shade and a plum/ wine shade and the lighter shades on more of the pink side.

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara Review

Discover luxurious volume that feels light as air. We took out a heavy synthetic and put in a light touch of nature — for luxurious lashes that are 20% lighter vs. the most expensive mascara. 2X more volume vs. bare lashes. (CoverGirl.com)

I have been really digging this mascara. I really love the feel of the mascara to the touch, normal mascaras feel dry and crunchy but this feels soft and leaves the lashes very flexible. I have been choosing this over the Lashblast Fusion. It separates my lashes well, and gives a good amount of volume, but the length it gives is amazing!  I have been using Black Brown #510, and I will defiantly be buying it in blackest black #500 because it’s such a great mascara.

10 Minuet Neutral Look

If you’re like me you have to get up supper early in the morning and want to sleep in as late as possible.  Cause let’s face it we could all use some beauty sleep. I also want to go to work looking my best. I decided to see how long a neutral look would take me in the morning, and after timing myself, it was a little less than 10 minutes. This means no having to get up any earlier to do makeup, yeah for sleep. I also have plans for the future to show you how to make little changes and add to your neutral look to give a pop and some flare and get many different looks from the one basic face.
