FOTD: Summer's Cooling Down

So summer is winding down here in the Berkshires and my favorite season autumn is right around the corner. The days have been sunny and warm but with nice cool breezes. Thank god because I was getting sick of the supper hot days.  I'm just itching to pull out the darker colors. Why hello jewel tones and plums I feel like it's been a while. I'm also excited that I get to wear my grandpa sweaters again in the early mornings and at night. Man I have missed them.

Pastel Easter Look

So it's been a while since my last tutorial...all of Lent to be exact who knew I gave up beauty blogging for lent.

This is an easy light fresh look that can be worn for Easter or any spring day. I could say pastels are on trend for spring but lets face it when are pastels not a spring trend?

Mardi Gras Inspired Tutorial

Fat Tuesday is here again which means the end of Pączki season in the bakery... Thank god! So to celebrate I wanted to do a Mardi Gras Themed look using the Mardi Gras colors,Green, Gold, and Purple. I think that the Mardi Gras colors are one of my favorite color combos.

FOTD February 11th

I decided to play around with this Yellow shadow that I have had for a while bet didn't really know what to do with it. Crayon yellow isn't exactly a color you see on people everyday.  It's kind of a colorful twist on a pin-up cat eye look.  I'm tapping into "The Secret" and using my powers of bright sunny color and positive thinking to will spring here earlier. Oh my former Science & Spirit teacher would be so proud with that comment.

Valentine's Day Pink & Purple Tutorial

 With Valentine's day around the corner and seeing all the candy conversation hearts I got inspired. It's a nice light sweet wearable look that would work well for day or a date.

Hair Nets, Not just For Lunch Ladys.

When you hear the words hair net what is the first thing you think of? For me it's the stereotypical lunch lady. Not exactly what one would associate with beauty or stylish. But after playing around I think I have found a new appreciation for the hair net

FOTD Pomegranate Everyday

I never thought that I would like a burgundy eyeshadow but ever since I used the Maybelline color tattoo in Pomegranate Punk it has become my new favorite go to look.  Another plus about the color is it helps blue eyes pop. Not to mention it goes well with my hair.

Van Gogh Starry Night, Art inspires Me

This look was inspired by an artist who has always fascinated and inspired me, Vincent Van Gogh.  I love his use of bold brush strokes and combinations of complementary colors.  I took my inspiration from the painting Starry Night which was a painting Van Gogh created in his later years from the view he had outside of the window of the sanatorium.  I love the swirling of blues with the pops of green and yellow.

10 Minuet Neutral Look

If you’re like me you have to get up supper early in the morning and want to sleep in as late as possible.  Cause let’s face it we could all use some beauty sleep. I also want to go to work looking my best. I decided to see how long a neutral look would take me in the morning, and after timing myself, it was a little less than 10 minutes. This means no having to get up any earlier to do makeup, yeah for sleep. I also have plans for the future to show you how to make little changes and add to your neutral look to give a pop and some flare and get many different looks from the one basic face.

Peacock Eyes ( National Nikki Day)

So yesterday was National Nikki day A.K.A My birthday. It was a pretty good day I didn't do much. I'm waiting for Tuesday to celebrate with some friends from out of town. Yeah Olive garden and Jello shooters! But any way I dolled my face up and played with makeup and came up with this Peacock eye look.

Opposites Attract (Blue & Orange)

I have always loved complimentary colors in my artwork, and I guess it was only natural that it translate to my makeup. I was playing around tonight and came up with this Blue and Orange look. I'm thinking of making it a series, not sure if I want to make it a series of tutorials or just pictures. Let me know what you think.
