Review: Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué

I had received these in my September Birchbox and finally got around to trying them. and I would just like to say I am in love with these! I’m really bad at nail art so this was the perfect solution. I loved the chaetae design. They were easy to apply; it was just like putting a sticker on your nails. I have really short nails so I found that one strip could do a finger on each hand, which means one packet was is like 2 manicures for the price of 1. I just cut it a bit above the nail and applied the remaining strip to the other hand. Normally I can only get 2 maybe 3 days out of a normal manicure if I’m lucky. I’m really hard on my nails. But with these I got 5 days before I started to see small chips and it was about 7 before they really started to peel off in bigger pieces. I did add 2 layers of a clear top coat to protect them and seal the edges.

I checked the site and the strips range in price from $7.99-$10.99 with the patterned designs costing more. Which I think is a good deal seeing as they last longer than nail polish for me. I do think I will try these again, I did see some cute Christmas and winter designs on the site that I would like to try.

Birchbox Breakdown: Let’s be honest—it’s annoying to wait for your nails to dry. These nail polish strips make it easy to get a flawless manicure without worrying about smudging or streaking. They come in a range of styles, from simple solid colors to out-there designs (leopard, anyone?). Best of all, the strips last up to two weeks and comes off with regular polish remover.

How it Work: They might look like stickers but these nifty strips are actually hyper thin layers of real nail polish. When you place them on your nails, they bend and conform to fit the contours of your nail. Plus, they’re actually better for your nails than regular polish because they contain less solvent and have small pores to let your nails breathe.

How to Use: Take off any existing polish and buff nails thoroughly to get a smooth surface for application. Each package comes with about 16 nails so you have some wiggle room if you mess up. Find the strips that fit your nails the best, and remember that you can stretch them to fit even better. Peel off the backing to the nail strip and place it on your nail, stretching it to fit. Use a file to get rid of the excess and continue to the rest of your fingers (or toes!). Watch our video for tips on perfect.

November Birchbox

I haven’t shared a Birchbox in a while partly because I haven’t been that impressed with them but I’m digging this month’s box.

LaROCCA Champagne and Shimmer Acai Sugar Polish – At first I didn’t know what this was and had to check the site to figure out what to do with it. It’s a little annoying that the description card doesn’t tell you. But after a little looking it’s a scrub you use on your skin in the shower. The fact that there is actual gold in the scrub is so interesting. The scrub I didn’t feel like it did much for exfoliation but it was moisturizing.

Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee Cologne Absolue – I didn’t like the smell of this perfume at all. I’m not a fan of vanilla perfumes.

TAY Safflower Seed Night Cream with Jojoba – the night cream was nice and thick. It soaked into the skin fast. And the wooden container was really cute.

Zoya Gems & Jewels Collection – I really in love with the nail polish. The color is a pretty shimmery teal/torques. I am really hard on a manicure and the polish holds up well. No matter what I always chip my nails but there was minimal chipping and wear on the tips.

Reuse it. New uses for empty Birchboxes.

Ever wonder what you can do with you old empty Birchbox? Today I found a use for them. I cleaned out my Junk drawer and found they make great origination containers. They help to keep things in place and separate.  You can use both the bottom and the tops as drawer containers. The boxes are the perfect size for pens and pencils.

August Birchbox

This Month’s BirchBox theme was beauty innovations. “These are products that are hopping boundaries rethinking the compact and shaking things up.”

 In my BirchBox
1.       -June Jacobs/ Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque
2.      - Ouidad/ Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel
3.       -Shaveworks/ The cool Fix
4.       -Smaskbox Cosmetics/ Photo Finish Foundation Primer
5.       -(Extra) Twistband/ Hair Tie

So far I have tried the Shaveworks, and the Smashbox primer. I really liked the Shaveworks after shaving lotion “stuff”, at first when I applied it burned slightly as most things with alcohol on them but soon after it took the little red bumps that I always get from shaving. As for the Smashbox primer it worked amazing! It left my skin feeling smooth and helped make my foundation look flawless.

July Birchbox

If you don’t already know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly subscription program that sends you 4-5 deluxe samples a month, You can sign up for the 10$ a month plan or pay for an entire year’s subscription for 110$ which essentially gives you 2 boxed a year for free.

This is my first month of getting a Birchbox and overall I’m really pleased with it. The samples aren’t really sample size they are more like travel sized products, so you actually get more than one use out of them. Some of the products they send you are actually full sized products which that alone can retail for more than the box itself. This to me makes the program more than worth it. Another reason why I really like the concept of this program is if you live in an area where there is not a Sephora or Alta which are stores that often give free samples, this allows you the opportunity to try products that you might not otherwise get a chance to.

Birchbox also has a rewards program. Each 100 reward points can be redeemed for $10.00.Each $1.00 spent will earn 1 reward points. Each earned reward points record expires in 365 days. Plus for every friend you refer and that friend places their first birchbox order you receive 50 points.

What I received, with full sized retail price:
Koores, Shower gel. 13.53oz $19.50
Philosophy, Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser. 8oz $20, 16oz $32
Redkin, Shine Flash. 4.4oz $17
Ybf Beauty, Automatic eye brow pencil In universal taupe. .005oz $12
Extra: Kind, Almond and Apricot snack bar
This is my first month of receiving a Birchbox and I wanted to share it with you.
