Library Autumn Book Sale Haul.

A couple times a year our local Library has a book sale of donated books and this past friday was one of the books sales. Books start at .50 cents. Most of the ones I got were only 1$. You can't beat that. The best part is you never know what your going to find.

I found a coffee table book on Van Gogh ($1) and Anatomy book for figure drawing(1$). The Art section is always the first place I hit at the book sale.

Holiday VoxBox From Influenster

I wanted to share with you mu Holiday VoxBox from Influenster.com. What is a VoxBox? It is a box of free full sized products sent from Influenster.com. You sign up and fill out some surveys. By filling out the surveys you earn badges and based on what badges and how many you have Influenster will send all sorts of products to try out and review and share you experience with friends family and your social networks. They can be anything from health and beauty products, to food and snacks.

What I have tried so far:

  • Larabar, Cherry Pie:oh it was so scrumptious!  The bar was nice and moist and had a soft texture. The cherry flavor was a nice fresh dark cherry flavor, like you just bit into a fresh cherry. I'll be putting that coupon to use to get some more. they would be a perfect breakfast snack for work.
  • Garden Botanika Heart Fragrance: I really like the smell. It was a light floral/slightly citric sent. It was not over powering at all. if your someone who likes Clinique's Happy Heart you'll love this perfume.
  • Mentos Pure Fresh Gum: I'm not usually a gum chewer, but these were nicely minty, not to strong. and the gum stayed soft and chewy for a long while and kept it's flavor too.

Disclaimer: All of the products shown were sent to me, but my opinions are not influenced in anyway and I am not being paid by showing these products. All reviews are my 100% honest opinion.

Extreme couponing (CVS haul 10/14/11)

The breakdown of how I got $31.27 worth of stuff for just $5.48

I did this in 2 transactions. Doing this allows you to be able to use your Extra Bucks in the same visit, and get the most out of a deal.

Transaction #1 – John Frieda precious foam color (hair dye) Regular $13.29. I used a CVS coupon that came in the mail for one free John Frieda precious foam color. This had a special of $3 Extra Bucks that will print out on the receipt.

Transaction #2 - Two packages of Schick slim twin razors. Which were on sale for buy one get one half off, regular $8.99. Then I used a $4 off 2 packages manufactures coupon which the second pack .49 cents. Then I used the $3 Extra Bucks from the first transaction and $1 Extra Buck from a previous day. My ending total was $5.48. Plus I also received a free candy bar!

Extreme Couponing, (Big saving at CVS, Haul)

Recently I have been watching that extreme couponing show and I have been inspired. I mean who doesn’t watch someone get 800$ worth of groceries for 5$ and say I want to do that. Today I feel I have done well. I got 75.94$ worth of stuff from CVS for 34.95, which is a little more than half off everything.
Here is what I got
    ·         Crest advanced whitening strips – reg. $44.49
    ·         Old Spice body wash- reg. $4.99
    ·         2 old spice antiperspirant/deodorant- reg. $5.99each
    ·         CoverGirl Naturelux mascara –reg. $9.99
    ·         CoverGirl single Eyeshadow- reg. $3.99
Total= 75.94
I paid 34.95, which is 40.99 dollars in savings!
Here is how I did it.
    1.       I had first purchased the whitening strips separately with a $7 manufactures coupon from the    Sunday paper, and a $5 and $3 extra bucks coupon off my purchase from previous receipts. I knew ahead of time that the white strips would give me $10 store coupon, hence the separate transaction.
    2.       Then on the second transaction I used my store loyalty card ($6.50 in savings)
    3.       Then combined with a buy one body wash get one deodorant free manufactures coupon (5.49$ value) and $1 off one old spice product, and $2.50 off any 2 cover girl cosmetic manufactures coupon. ($8.49 all together)
    4.       Lastly I used the $10 coupon from my first purchase I save $25.49 on the second transaction with a grand total savings of $40.99!!!

To top my great savings day I did some grocery shopping and get a $3.75 porterhouse steak with store coupon free toothpaste with manufacturer’s coupon and store sale with the store doubling coupons that are under .99 cents and .34 cent Kleenex through store sale and double coupon. Man it feel great.

Fortune Cookie Soaps, First Impressions & Review

Fortune Cookie soaps are Hand mad gunk free soaps and bath products. They make soaps that are shaped like fortune cookies and even have the message inside which I think is supper cute.

(Description from FortuneCookieSoaps.com)

I really like this product. It is shaped like a fortune cookie and even has a message in it. The smell of it is Just like a lemon drop candy, which lemon is my favorite smell. I have been using this soap in the shower and it leaves my skin so soft and gives that clean feeling without the tight feeling which I feel most bar soaps always leave me with. The soap is even gentle enough to use on the face without drying me out or leaving that tight feeling.

This looks exactly like a snow cone and smells like one too! You can get about 3 uses out of one bomb, but I did find it hard to break it up. I had to almost chisel it with a butter knife. I really like this product. I enjoy bath soaking products and this was a great on. It left my shin feeling soft and smelling good.

This product goes on so smooth and leaves lips really soft. The smell is a strong artificial watermelon smell reminding me of watermelon candy. The lip tint doesn’t have any tint to it in my opinion; it doesn’t add any color to the lips. I don’t feel that for the $4.25 price for .07oz and the fact that it has no tint it’s worth it. However if it were twice the size which is the size of a regular chopstick it would be worth the price.

Juicy watermelon Lip Tint

This is an adorable soap, looking just like a cup cake. The smell of it is just like a baked strawberry cake. This would be one of those soaps that is too cute to use, and would be a great decorative bathroom soap. I have yet to use it just because I like how it looks too much.

The carrot cake bath melts smell just like spiced carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. You put them in the bath tub and soak. They leave your skin really moisturized and would be great someone with dry skin.

Over all I really like the products from Fortune Cookie Soaps. The fact they only use safe ingredient is an awesome plus. They smell amazing and leave my skin feeling good. My only real problem was the packaging, or the lack there of. Some of the products came packaged in plastic zip lock baggies. I received the bath melts in a broken and crumbled state. Even though the website had a disclaimer saying that the bath melts may arrive either broken crumbled or melted, I think that even if it were packaged in the plastic baggie it could have been tightly wrapped inn the baggie to prevent the breakage.  I also think that a fragile this side up sticker when it was shipped would have prevented the cupcake soap from looking so banged up.
