Monday Music Loves (they are back!!!)

Well Its been quite some time and I have lots of tunes to share! I'm not a music critic by any means I just know what I like. And these are some of the songs I have been loving.

Natalia Kills, Daddy's Girl

I have been in love with the whole Trouble album since it came out this summer. If your someone who misses the early days of Lady GaGa I suggest Natalia Kills to fill that void.

The Civil Wars, Devils Backbone

I love this song for the hints of county and blue grass but its not bombarding you with twangy I got my pickup truck and my girl just left me. God knows I can't stand the twangy red necks. They have incredible and beautiful voices.

Fall Out Boy, Alone Together

Well I never thought there would be a day where I would be saying I like fallout Boy. I guess never say never because I love their latest album. I'm not quite sure what drew me to it but I do appreciate that the lead singer has gotten better on his enunciation! This is one that I have been jamming out to for months now.

That's all for this week. What are some of the songs or artist you have been loving lately?

(ok so that didn't rhyme but any who) New Horizons came out late October how did I not know this!?! I previewed about half the songs and was like I need to buy NOW.

Monday Music Loves Christmas Edition

It's been a while since I have done a Monday Music loves but since it's Christmas eve I thought I would share some of my favorite Christmas songs.

Kenny & Dolly I Believe In Santa Clause

Dolly is one of my favorite people, in face she's on my people I'd like to meet. she always seem so kind and happy and such a positive person. Like she is the epitome of the Christmas spirit. I can't go through a Christmas season without watching A Smokey Mountain Christmas with he in it. Plus her Christmas songs are different from what seems to be the same 10 that always play. and working in a retail store I hear the all day. So her Christmas songs are a nice change.

N'Sync - Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

This one ends up in the Christmas play list just because it's different and not the cookie cutter remake christmas song.

Judy Garland - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

This is my favorite version of this song and in my opinion no one else should sing it but Judy Garland. Her voice just melts my heart.

What are some of your favorite Christmas songs?

Hope You all have a Merry Christmas and happy Holidays!

Monday Music Loves #5 Zombies & Rant

So in honor of World Zombie day coming upon the 13th this week I have some of my favorite zombie songs for you. I'm so excited about The Zombie Pub Crawl and dressing up and doing my makeup like a zombie. I have been making zombie prognostics like crazy, I want to be really gruesome.  I also have a rambling song rant this week.

The Pretty Reckless "Zombie"

Natalia Kills "Zombie"

Monday Music Loves (#4)

It's been a while since I have shared some tunes with every one. So here is what's been on constan rotation lately.

Lana Del Rey "Radio" (Born To Die)

I had been listen to Land Del Rey radio on Pandora a lot and it had been on my iTunes wish list for a while. I finally got the album a couple of weeks ago and as usual whatever is new is on perma play on my iPod. I love her music it's calming, mellow and powerful all at the same time. Of course the defining factor of a favorite song is if it fits into a movie scene. I'm always imaging up movies in my head and the music that would be there sound track and I could totally envision this backing the story. I love her mix of deep sultry voice with the higher girl like tone.

Monday Music Love #3 All about Deb Talan

So quite possibly one of my favorite singer/song writers of all time is Deb Talan. A friend introduced me to her music about 10 years ago (wow it was that long ago). Deb's music has become a big portion of the soundtrack of my life. Listening to her music and singing along always makes me feel better. Deb doesn't know it but she has been there for the good the bad and the ugly, always helping me through.

If your a fan of the former WB now CW TV station and it's shows your sure to have herd one of her songs playing in the background. I always get supper excited when that happens being an Indie artist and all.  She is also apart of The band The Weepies which also hold a giant place in my heart. I got to see them play live a few years back as a Christmas present from My boyfriend. still one of the best presents EVER! So here are some of my favorite Deb Talan/ Weepies songs.

Deb Talan- "Thinking Amelia" (Somethings Burning)

Monday Music Loves #2

Here are my top 3 songs  that have been non stop on the playlist this week.

Alex Winston- Locomotive

I came across one of Alex Winston's videos sometime 2 weeks ago on one of the weird in between channels that can you believe it actually plays music video's and I went on Youtube to look up more music from her. I found this and have been obsessing over it ever since.

Magic Wands - Black Magic

One thing I love about iTunes is that each week there are several spotlight singles for free. They change every Tuesday. This was one of the songs that was featured on the Indie spotlight about 2 weeks ago. I love the singles of the week I find music that I might never of heard otherwise.

Natalia Kills - Break You Hard

This is a sing that's been going strong in my iPod for the past 9 months. If you like Lady GaGa you'll defiantly like Natalia Kills. I highly recommend checking out her whole album  because every song on it is really good.

What songs have you been loving this week?

Monday Music Loves #1

How I listen to music... Find song I like. Put it on my iPod. Fall in love with it. Listen to... on repeat for 2 weeks strait. I will listen to the same 3 - 6 songs for weeks on end. Sure there is a tun of other music on my iPod but I seem to fixate on a few. Usually because I have created stories in my head and the songs become the soundtrack. So here are some of the songs that have been getting a lot of playlist love lately.

Modestep - Sunlight

Modestep is my current dubstep obsession! I don't know what it is about dubstep that just makes me want to dance. My favorite description of dubstep is "in the 90's we called it dial-up internet noise, now it's known as dubstep"

Superchick - Sand In The Rain

yep Superchick is a Christian rock band. I never imagined I would like Christian rock but so long I don't hear god, lord and Jesus in every other line it's really pretty good. When you get down to it it's just empowerment songs and who doesn't want to feel empowered?

The Pretty Reckless - Hit Me Like A Man

This song is off their latest EP, and if you haven't heard their first album I highly recommend it every song is great. all were played several hundred times on my pod. I'm so Impressed with Taylor Momsen's voice. I never could of imagined that such a gritty and powerful voice could of come from someone so young.

What Have you been listening to lately? I love finding new singers and bands.
