August MyGlam Bag (Phot Heavy)

For the past few months MyGlam has been putting together some really great bags, and this month is no exception. There is a great mix of different types of products. It has skin care, makeup and fragrance. Their customer service has been great too. The site said my bag would come in the middle of the month and I got it Monday the 13th, 3 days after I got my shipping notice.I love a speedy deliver.

L'Oreal paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow Review

L'Oreal's claims
  • Intense maximized color
  • Luxurious powder-cream texture
  • 24-hour long-lasting hold
  • Waterproof, crease resistant, fade resistant
description from loreal.com

These come in 12 shades. Most are shimmery neutrals there are a few more colorful colors like blue, green and purple.

I have heard that theses are a good drugstore dupe for the Armani Eyes To kill eyeshadows, but that is probably due to the fact that they are both under the same parent company and use similar formulas. So if you were looking to try the Armani shadows but not at the $32 price this might be a better way to go.  As for what I think of the L'Oral Infallible 24 HR shadows.....

Love it or leave it? Personally I'd leave it.  As far as the claims go it doesn't hold up. It does have a nice powder-cream texture, but as fare as intense maximized color goes it swatches on the fingers nicely yet when applied from there to the skin the pigmentation doesn't show up as intense. I did also find the shadow hard to work with. It was hard to pickup onto a brush and then apply to the eye. The best way to apply it was with the fingers, even then it wasn't ideal. As far as 24 hour long lasting hold goes it couldn't even hold up for 8 hours without creasing and that was with an eyeshadow primer.

Would I purchase other shades? No, I think that it's not worth the nearly $10 for one color that is hard to work with and does not hold up.

NYX Haul & Beautyjoint.com review

I recently purchased some NYX cosmetics from Beautyjoint.com over black friday. Beauty joint sells NYX cosmetics at about 40%-50% off regular NYX prices. We all love saving money! They also sell Milani cosmetics, Jordana, and China Glaze at reduced prices.

Overall I was really happy with the site, prices and the products. The products arrived and each was wraped in bubble wrap to prevent breakage and everything was perfect and intact.  My only complaint was the swatch of the Eros lipstick. From the swatch on the site I thought Eros was going to be a nude pink color but when I received it it was really a bright coral red. It was a beautiful color but I was expecting it to be a nude. So just check with the NYX site first to make sure the color you see is the color you'll get. I think that they may have gotten them mixed up a bit.

Holiday VoxBox From Influenster

I wanted to share with you mu Holiday VoxBox from Influenster.com. What is a VoxBox? It is a box of free full sized products sent from Influenster.com. You sign up and fill out some surveys. By filling out the surveys you earn badges and based on what badges and how many you have Influenster will send all sorts of products to try out and review and share you experience with friends family and your social networks. They can be anything from health and beauty products, to food and snacks.

What I have tried so far:

  • Larabar, Cherry Pie:oh it was so scrumptious!  The bar was nice and moist and had a soft texture. The cherry flavor was a nice fresh dark cherry flavor, like you just bit into a fresh cherry. I'll be putting that coupon to use to get some more. they would be a perfect breakfast snack for work.
  • Garden Botanika Heart Fragrance: I really like the smell. It was a light floral/slightly citric sent. It was not over powering at all. if your someone who likes Clinique's Happy Heart you'll love this perfume.
  • Mentos Pure Fresh Gum: I'm not usually a gum chewer, but these were nicely minty, not to strong. and the gum stayed soft and chewy for a long while and kept it's flavor too.

Disclaimer: All of the products shown were sent to me, but my opinions are not influenced in anyway and I am not being paid by showing these products. All reviews are my 100% honest opinion.

Review: E.L.F Studio Mascara Primer

Lengthen and volumize eyelashes instantly with this Mascara Primer. Revitalize lashes with Pro-Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Wheat and Soy Protein-enriched formula. An excellent conditioning base for mascara. Coat each lash with this nourishing primer for lashes that appear naturally thicker, longer and stronger!

I really like this mascara primer. It helps pump up the volume and length of lashes with just one coat of primer and one coat of mascara. When normally it would take multiple coats of mascara to make lashes look thicker and longer with the primer it only needed one. The primer makes my lashes feel soft even with the mascara on. Normally mascara make my lashes feel crunchy. The brush on the wand is the perfect size coating all the lashes. I"m also digging the packaging. The handle of the wand is nice and long making it easy to handle. Like all E.L.F products it’s very inexpensive at only $3, well worth the price.

    Review: E.L.F Studio Stipple Brush

This new antibacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this e.l.f. Studio brush!
The layered bristles create a soft airbrushed look that's perfect for applying foundation or adding color definition to cheekbones or highlighting with soft layers. Use this brush with any liquid or powder face product such as foundation, blush or bronzer to build your coverage from sheer to heavy.

This brush is great bang for your buck! The synthetic bristles are supper soft. The brush has a nice feel in the hand the handle is just the right length neither to long nor to short. It applies liquid foundation flawlessly with no streaks. The synthetic bristles dry completely in about 3 hours after washing with soap and water. At just $3 the E.L.F. stipple brush is a great deal.

Review E.L.F. Studio Complete Coverage Concealer

Savvy beauty shoppers rejoice—now there is no need to buy new concealer from season to season for meeting the different needs your skin tone may have. e.l.f. introduces a sleek quad compact filled with four brilliant, customizable concealers ranging from light, medium and dark shades. A must have for anyone’s makeup kit these highly pigmented, professionally formulated concealers offer ultimate coverage to disguise a range of boo-boos and flaws including blemishes, dark circles, redness and uneven skin-tone for a flawless, makeup artist finish!
    Description from E.L.F.com

I bought this concealer compact because I have trouble finding the right shade, and thought it would be great for mixing. But I was greatly disappointed in it. The concealers are extremely waxy and hard to get out of the pan with a brush and even when I used my finger to warm it up it barley came out. The colors were also poorly pigmented. When applied to the skin the concealer went straight into the cracks and fine lines on the skin, which is not a good look and makes you look older.  This concealer pallet is defiantly a regret buy and I don’t think I’ll get any use out of it.

    Review: Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué

I had received these in my September Birchbox and finally got around to trying them. and I would just like to say I am in love with these! I’m really bad at nail art so this was the perfect solution. I loved the chaetae design. They were easy to apply; it was just like putting a sticker on your nails. I have really short nails so I found that one strip could do a finger on each hand, which means one packet was is like 2 manicures for the price of 1. I just cut it a bit above the nail and applied the remaining strip to the other hand. Normally I can only get 2 maybe 3 days out of a normal manicure if I’m lucky. I’m really hard on my nails. But with these I got 5 days before I started to see small chips and it was about 7 before they really started to peel off in bigger pieces. I did add 2 layers of a clear top coat to protect them and seal the edges.

I checked the site and the strips range in price from $7.99-$10.99 with the patterned designs costing more. Which I think is a good deal seeing as they last longer than nail polish for me. I do think I will try these again, I did see some cute Christmas and winter designs on the site that I would like to try.

Birchbox Breakdown: Let’s be honest—it’s annoying to wait for your nails to dry. These nail polish strips make it easy to get a flawless manicure without worrying about smudging or streaking. They come in a range of styles, from simple solid colors to out-there designs (leopard, anyone?). Best of all, the strips last up to two weeks and comes off with regular polish remover.

How it Work: They might look like stickers but these nifty strips are actually hyper thin layers of real nail polish. When you place them on your nails, they bend and conform to fit the contours of your nail. Plus, they’re actually better for your nails than regular polish because they contain less solvent and have small pores to let your nails breathe.

How to Use: Take off any existing polish and buff nails thoroughly to get a smooth surface for application. Each package comes with about 16 nails so you have some wiggle room if you mess up. Find the strips that fit your nails the best, and remember that you can stretch them to fit even better. Peel off the backing to the nail strip and place it on your nail, stretching it to fit. Use a file to get rid of the excess and continue to the rest of your fingers (or toes!). Watch our video for tips on perfect.

I was not a fan of both the shampoo and the conditioner. First the shampoo was far too and watered down; it was hard to keep it in my hand. The shampoo also was horrible at lathering it took 2 handfuls of shampoo to lather my hair and even that was substandard. I also needed an abnormally large amount of conditioner to make it feel conditioned. As far as color preserving goes I don’t think it worked any better than regular shampoo and conditioner to prevent color fading. With my dyed red hair it’s about 2 weeks and color has faded and these products did not seem to extend the time between colorings.  I will not be purchasing these products again.
